Breathing new life into one of West Street’s long-standing buildings, Pop Up Horsham is a collective of artisans, craftspeople, and small businesses together in a building that has a long history of haberdashery and crafts.
The former Closs & Hamblin store, which originated in London in 1933 by Mr. Harold Closs
and Mr. Cyril Hamblin offered specialised silks and other dress-making fabrics and patterns
was sited in West Street since 2012 and is relocating less than a minute’s walk away to 1
Swan Walk.
Covering two floors, including an events space for workshops and housing everything from
small unique gifts to furniture. With an artist in residence and a large number of local
craftspeople, Pop Up Horsham is keen to continue the influence of crafts in the building by
offering workshops in painting, upholstery, pottery, and lots more, with a principal goal of
providing a platform for small businesses and entrepreneurs to offer their products and
services on the high street.

About Pop Up Horsham
Pop Up Horsham provides new and small businesses the opportunity to dip a toe into the world
of high street retailing.
Following the success of our 2015 high street project, when we helped 28 new businesses to
experience high street retail, we are back with our new pop-up shop in West Street, Horsham.
Pop Up Horsham (PUH) offers high-quality shared shop space to local entrepreneurs for a
month at a time – and at a very low cost, thanks to the valued co-operation of Horsham District
Council (HDC).
This low cost minimises risk for any businesses taking part. One recent tenant paid the fee for
his month and promptly took six times that amount in revenue in his first week.
For many small businesses, one of the biggest challenges is how to get your products or
services in front of potential customers on the high street.
Go Plan B is delighted to have been part of the Creative Strategy team which delivered Pop Up Horsham in 2021-2022 – Pop Up Horsham.
